Mr. Aldes Julian Broussard, 78, of Lake Arthur, LA, passed away on January 16, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday January 19, 2024, at Miguez Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, beginning at 1:00 p.m., with Brother Pat Deshotel officiating. Burial will take place in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday January 18, 2024, at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited during the visitation at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Visitation will resume on Friday at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Aldes was born February 24, 1945, in Lake Arthur, LA, to Julian Broussard and Eva Broussard. If you knew him, you know he loved playing music, especially the accordion. He taught himself to play the accordion at the age of 15 and had grown over the years to be one of the best around. He was inducted into the Cajun Music Hall of Fame on November 8, 1998. Other than playing music, he enjoyed spending time with his family and BBQing with them. He worked as a truck driver for many years as well. Mr. Broussard served honorably in the United States National Guard.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 56 years, Evelyn Broussard; sons, Ray (Brittany) Broussard of Lake Arthur and Ron (Christy) Broussard of Lake Arthur; sister, Delta Giles of Lake Arthur; eight grandchildren, Melanie (Nick) Gray, Blake Broussard, Logan Broussard, Elle Broussard, Josey (David) Williams, Jacey Broussard, Keagan Broussard, and Darrah Broussard; and two great-grandchildren, Clark and Clint Gray.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joy Deshotel, Helen Breaux, and Eula Williams; and a brother, Amos Broussard.

Carrying him to his final place of rest will be Blake Broussard, Logan Broussard, Keagan Broussard, David Williams, Nick Gray and Kirby Kingrey, Jr.
