It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth B. Trahan, who left us peacefully on February 3, 2026, at the age of 82. Ruth was born on November 2, 1943, in Lake Arthur, LA, and spent her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Ruth is survived by her devoted husband, Melvin Trahan. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy through her daughters: Priscilla Callais (Kevin), Lorie Landry (Craig), Eldine Dupre (Daniel), her sons, Terry Trahan and Ken Trahan (Michele), along with her beloved brother, Carrol "Wayne" Broussard.

She was cherished by her grandchildren: Christopher Landry (Amanda), Rachel Landry (Dustin Pelloquin), Jessica Stegall (Scotty), Danielle Kay (Tim), Aaron Dupre, Tyler Dupre, Megan Landreneau (Blake),Lindsey Prestenbach (Jewel), and Katelyn Gros (Sean).

Among her many joys, Ruth took immense pride in her great-grandchildren: Lily Landry, Abby Landry, Elly Landry, Camy Landry, Reed Landry, Brynlee Fitzgerald, Owen Landreneau, Jude Landreneau, Gavin Stegall, Wyatt Stegall, Ashton Kay, Sawyer Kay, Reese Kay, Avery Dupre, Harper Dupre, Sage Laliberte, Levi Prestenbach, Lincoln Gros, Emerson Gros, Presley Gros, and Bentley Gros. Each of them held a special place in her heart.

Ruth was a devoted homemaker, pouring her love into her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. She was known for her generosity, kindness, and her ability to make everyone feel special.

A funeral service will be held at Miguez Funeral Home on February 7, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., with a public viewing starting at 9:30 a.m. Following the service, Ruth will be laid to rest at Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

We invite all who knew Ruth to come together to celebrate her life and the love she shared. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Ruth was preceded in death by: her parents, Douglas Broussard and Hattie McDaniel, and her siblings, Shirley Duhon and Douglas Lee Broussard.
