Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Matthews Funeral Home in
Jennings, LA for Ms. Cheran Fay Trahan, who called from this life on February 6, 2026, at the age of 80.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Matthews Funeral Home in
Jennings, LA with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 8:00 AM until her services begin at 10:00 AM.
Deacon Mike Tramel will officiate her Funeral and Graveside services. Cheran will be laid to rest in the Calvary Cemetery beside her husband, Oren Joseph Trahan.
Cheran was born in
Jennings, LA on March 29, 1945, to the late Mr. Allie Lopez and Mrs. Eula Mae Crochet, both of
Jennings, LA. As a lifelong resident of
Jennings, LA, Cheran worked in the retail industry doing what she loved best, baking. She grew to become a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was a proud member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. Her generosity and love were always shown through her cooking and baking, for which she was well known for. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping and babysitting her grandchildren at any given opportunity. Her warm spirit will be cherished in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Ms. Cheran is survived by her sons, Oren J. Trahan, Jr. (Joycelyn) of Lake Arthur, LA, Brent Michael Trahan of Crowley, LA, and Cade William Trahan (Janet) of Hathaway, LA; brothers, Daniel Lopez (Francis) and Carl Lopez (Lucinda); sisters, Stella Latiolais (Boo), Kathaleen Hammons (Darrell) and Christine Hammons (Kevin); sister in law, Connie Lopez; grandchildren, Amber Trahan of Lake Arthur, LA, Hudson Trahan of
Jennings, LA, Bali Olivier (Mavrick) of Lafayette, LA, Harley Legros (Cole) of Lake Arthur, LA, Eddie Trahan (Calissa) of Vidor, TX, Brody and Jacob Trahan of Hathaway, LA; great grandchildren, Rosalie Reign and Memphis Skye Olivier of Lafayette, LA and Kolson Clay and expecting Kyzer Oren Trahan of Vidor, TX; and one Bonus son, Hunter Dearing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Oren Joseph Trahan; her parents, Allie Lopez and Eula Mae Crochet Trahan; brother, Randall Lopez; sister, Eva Lopez.
Pallbearers chosen to honor Ms. Cheran to her place of rest will be Oren Trahan, Jr., Brent Trahan, Hudson Trahan, Eddie Trahan, Brody Trahan and Jacob Trahan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cade Trahan and Hunter Dearing.

Jennings, LA and Lamm Hospice for their care and compassion for Ms. Cheran during her time of need.
