Norma Hare Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Matthews and Son Funeral Home - Jennings on Feb. 12, 2026.
Norma Jean Woolley Hare, 96, of Church Point, Louisiana passed away with family by her side on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 10:00 am where she will be laid to rest in the Longwood Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Ms. Norma Jean Woolley, affectionately known as Jean, was born on December 7, 1929, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to the late Mr. Homer L. Woolley and Mrs. Winnie Olsten Woolley. From an early age, Jean developed a love for animals, especially birds. She loved gardening and being immersed in the open air of the outdoors. Jean held a vocation for caring and helping people. She was the epitome of the word "daughter" when it came to her parents. The compassion and aid she gave them will forever be unmatched. Of all her accomplishments, she was most proud of her success in raising her children and grandchildren. Her warm heart and caring nature will be remembered in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Jean is survived by her children, Joyce Johnson (Michael), Terry Dwayne Trosper, Douglas Gene Trosper (Billie Sue), Sherry Lynn Trosper, Penny Lee Lane (Roger); her eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer L. Woolley and Winnie Olsten Woolley and her brother, Homer Woolley, Jr.

Pallbearers chosen to honor Ms. Jean to her place of rest will be Roger Lane, Terry Trosper, Phil Bolton, and Wilkes Bolton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Johnson, Kenny Trosper Douglas Trosper, Jaden Smith and Corey Trosper.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Landmark of Rayne Nursing Home and Hospice of Acadiana for their care and passion for Ms. Jean during her time of need.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org) or to your local animal rescue.
