James Lee Hare, 88, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in Evansville on December 2, 1937, to the late Fred and Genevieve (Breece) Hare.
Jim Graduated from Central High School, he worked for Coca Cola for many years. He also served in the United States Navy. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Kelly Carter (Wayne) of Sioux City IA, and Bonnie Verdugo (Ramon) of Morgan, Utah; son- in-law, Mike Barton; granddaughters, Tiffany Hendrix (George), Alexandria Searls (Jon), Chelsea Carter, Brianna Carter; grandsons, Aaron Barton (Sarah), Ramon Verdugo Jr. (Mey), Dana Verdugo (Denise), Renny Verdugo (Makean); great grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth, Jameson, Dalton, Lily, Henry, Kai, Coco, Edmond, Helena, Thaddeus, Theodore, Ophelia, Zeraphine; sister, Sheila Mesey of St. Clair, MO; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty plus years, Gloria Hare, and his daughter, Carrie Barton.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00a.m on Monday, February 9, 2026, with full military rites, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes Meyer Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville, IN 47711; with entombment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 9:30a.m to the time of the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of James L. Hare may be made to a favorite charity of your choosing.
