Sylvia Fahy Hebert

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Matthews Funeral Home in Jennings for Ms. Sylvia Fahy Hebert, 87, who passed away on February 1, 2026, at Harbor Hospice of Lake Charles, LA.

Visitation will be held at Matthews Funeral Home in Jennings, LA, on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 9:00 AM until her service time of 2:00 PM. A rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM.

Reverend Nathan Comeaux will officiate her service and burial will immediately follow in the Calvary Cemetery.

Ms. Sylvia was born in Welsh, LA, on November 24, 1938, to the late Mr. Anthony Kratzer of Welsh, LA and Mrs. Louries Sonnier of Oberlin, LA. She worked as a supervisor of special needs children at the Southwest Louisiana State School for many years. Sylvia's heart overflowed with love for her family. She held fond memories of time spent with them, especially taking out the pontoon boat. In her later life, she greatly enjoyed her retirement. She could always be found taking care of her horses, trail riding, camping, shopping and driving her golf cart in her yard. Sylvia always jumped at the chance to eat boiled crabs and crawfish. A beloved mother and grandmother whose memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Sylvia is survived by her children, Shane Hebert (Fiancé, Rechell Barzas) of Tee Mamou, LA, Gaylynn Lawrence of Pueblo, CO and Shawnee Bergeaux of Basile, LA; sisters, Renell Derouen of Lacassine, LA and Cheryl Comeaux(Daniel) of Lake Charles, LA; seven grandchildren, Leatha, Justin, Nadja, Nicole, Brock, Dusty, Toree Layne and numerous great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Joseph Hebert; her parents, Anthony Kratzer and Louries Sonnier Kratzer; daughter, Angela Ann Lawrence; brother, Dale Kratzer.
