Alene Henderson was born in Covington County on August 27, 1932, to William Van and Amanda Delancey Roberts. A lifelong resident of Prentiss, Alene was a dedicated employee to the Edward Hymen Company in Prentiss and Buddy's Jeans in New Hebron for many years.
In addition, she was an exceptional cook and enjoyed baking. Her home was a place of comfort and joy, where laughter rang freely and memories were made. Beyond her family, Alene shared a special bond with her beloved cat, Maggie, whom she cared for over 20 years. Known as the life of the party, she was a huge fan of country music and loved to dance, filling the lives of those around her with humor and laughter. Her friends affectionately nicknamed her "Trouble," a testament to her quick wit and lightheartedness. Mrs. Henderson was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Mrs. Henderson is preceded in death by her parents, Van and Amanda Roberts; her husband, H.T. “Dago” Henderson and a brother, Larue Roberts.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughters, Margaret Ann Reddoch (Trigger) of Bassfield, Janice Griffith (George) of Prentiss, Melissa McCain (Mike) of Sandy Hook and her son, Jerry Milling (Pamela) of Clinton. The legacy of their Memaw and grandmother will also live on through her grandchildren, Garry Langley, Andrew Griffith, Jason Griffith, Lauren Holden, LeAnne Griffith, Karsen McCain, and 11 great-grandchildren.
