Alex Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary on Jun. 6, 2024.
On May 27, 2024, Alex completed his assignment for Christ. He fell into a deep sleep and was called home to Glory. Alex was surrounded by his wife, Crystal Johnson, of 21 years and their children. On October 14, 1985, a beautiful baby boy was born to Barbara Mason, and the late Kenneth Johnson Sr., in Galveston, TX. Alex attended Galveston Ball High School. He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Galveston. Alex loved to be around family. His biggest enjoyment was the love he had and displayed for his wife and children. Alex greatest achievement was rededicating his life to Christ, and becoming an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, in Texas City, TX, under the leadership of Pastor D'Angelo S. Mahoney. Alex always wore a smile as he maintained the upkeep of the church. Nicknamed "Boleg" and "Coby", Alex was well known throughout the Galveston County Community. Although the county was big, he never met a stranger. Alex believed in family, loving each other and helping one another.
Alex is preceded in death by his baby girl, Aleyah Johnson; father; sister, Alquishia Mason; grandmother, Margaret Mickey Mason Davis.
The love of Alex will remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind, the love of his life, wife Crystal Johnson; his loving children, daughters, Alaysia Mason, Alexia Mason, Jakari Willis Johnson; sons, Alex Johnson, Jr., Christian Johnson, Terraine Wilson; one grandson, J'ayce Ward; mother, Barbara Mason; siblings, Kenneth E., Kenneth J. Jr., Kourtni, Troy J., Alton J, Jr., My'Keria W., Shankeshia T., Heavenly D., Quinten M., Harold M. Jr., Jasmine H., Mohoganey "Poo-Poo" H., Krystal H., Brandy H., Mahogony J.; mother-in-law, Joeletta Hooper; father-in-law, Harold Moore, Sr.; a village of aunts and uncles, Jacqueline Vallery, Charlotte Mason, Stephanie Mason, Lakisha Winn (Arthur), Sonja Smith, Hannah Lomax, Jerri Felton, Rodney Bethany (Sherlinda), and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; best friend, Cvette Price; special devoted friend, Kendrek Gordon; childhood friends Anthony Morgan, Carl Lee Mason, Michael Bell, and Terrance Gallow. His wife, Crystal, would like to thank everyone who took the time to call, text, pray, drop by and bring care packages. Please keep us all lifted in prayer.
