Frances Bayers Hamm, a woman of remarkable intelligence, analytical strength, and heartfelt compassion, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, in Austin, Texas, at the age of 75.

Born on April 15, 1950, in Gilliland, Texas, Frances was the cherished daughter of world-renowned spur and bit maker Adolph Bayers and Fannie Bayers. She was the devoted wife of the late John Hamm, with whom she shared 51 years of enduring love and partnership.

Frances attended the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston before earning both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees with High Honors from the University of Texas at Austin. Her academic excellence laid the foundation for a distinguished career in Human Resources and Insurance, where her sharp analytical mind and genuine desire to help others made a lasting impact.

Her professional contributions were widely recognized. Frances was named in "Who's Who Among Human Service Professionals" by the National Reference Institute and received the Outstanding Service and Work Award from Austin Rehabilitation Center, Inc.. She was also honored with awards recognizing her dedicated service to Therapy Pet Pals of Texas Inc..

Frances's commitment to others extended well beyond her professional life. Through her personal venture, Sober Approach to Finance, she guided and educated individuals toward financial stability and independence. A devoted volunteer, she brought comfort and joy to hospital patients and nursing home residents by sharing her beloved dogs with those in need of companionship.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Frances found great joy in fishing, traveling, and her fellowship as a proud member of the Metropolitan Breakfast Club. She was known for her clear convictions, decisive voice, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Her generosity, intellect, and spirited determination left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

She is survived by her brother-in-law, Stephan Hamm, and her cherished nieces, Ruth and Thea Hamm, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Though her passing leaves a profound void, Frances's indomitable spirit and lifelong dedication to making the world a better place will continue to inspire those she touched. All are welcome to attend her services being held at Harrells Funeral Home at 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX 78745 on Friday February 20th at noon.
