With sadness and heartfelt sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, father -in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and cousin, Alex Piña.
Alex departed from this life at his home on Thursday, June 26, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories that will forever be in our hearts.
Alex was born on April 28, 1935, to Amada Guerra Piña and Silverio Piña, Alex grew up with a strong sense of family and work ethic. He dedicated 30 years of his life to public service, working as an accountant at Bergstrom Air Force Base until his well-deserved retirement in April 1993.
Alex was a man of many talents. He found great joy in woodworking and gardening. He also enjoyed taking road trips with his beloved wife, Antonia(Toni).
Alex was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 60 years, Antonia (Toni)Piña, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship. He also joins his parents, Amada and Silverio Piña; his sister, Elena Piña; his brother, Martin Piña; and his sister-in-law, Mary Lou Piña, in eternal rest.
Alex's memory will be forever treasured by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted children:

His legacy continues through his 16 grandchildren and their spouses, and his 23 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss his presence dearly. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Janie (Vicente) Perez and his brother-in-law, Frank (Penny) Martinez.
Alex, your quiet strength, unwavering love, and gentle humor will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing you.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to Dr. Gurneet Kohli and his dedicated staff, as well as Starlyn and staff at St. David's Hospice, for their exceptional care and support during Alex's final days.
Funeral Arrangements:
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin Texas 78745. A Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Catholic Church on 4600 E Ben White Blvd, Austin Texas 78741 on Thursday, July 3rd at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
