Alexander "Alex" James Armstrong, beloved son, husband, brother, and friend was born on December 24, 2001, in Baytown, Texas. He left this world too soon, passing away on October 28, 2024, leaving a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Alex was a shining light, renowned for his warm personality and boundless love for family and friends. He graduated from Tarkington School in 2020, where he excelled as a talented athlete, serving as an outstanding J.V. quarterback, and making his mark as a dedicated basketball player and a runner for track. His hard work and determination were evident both on the field and off, making him an inspiration to many.
A man of simple pleasures, Alex cherished the great outdoors. He found joy in nature, spending countless evenings gathered around campfires with family and friends, making memories that will live on in their hearts forever. He had a zest for life that was matched only by his love for good food, with Thai Cottage holding a special place as his favorite restaurant. Barbecuing was another one of Alex's passions, where he would share laughter and delicious meals with those lucky enough to sit at his table.
His love for his trucks, his "DirtyMaxx," showcased his playful spirit and love for adventure. His work driving hydro-vac trucks was more than just a job for Alex; it was a calling that allowed him to combine his love for hard work and the open road.
Alex's love for his family was deep and unwavering. He leaves behind his cherished wife of five years, Jesslyn Marie Armstrong, who was his partner in all things wonderful, and his parents, William G. Armstrong and Stacey Lynn Hughes, will forever remember him as their loving son. He is also survived by his brothers: Cory, Nick, Derek, and Damond Armstrong and his wife Josephine; and his sisters, Kim Armstrong and Rebecca Scott. Their love for each other was a testament to the strength of their sibling bond. In addition to his family, Alex is survived by his brother-in-law, Zach Bullard, and his brothers in Christ, Brenden Bruce, Conner Clifton, and Christian Howard, who stood by him in faith and friendship. Kristine Myers, his second mom, was another pillar of support in his life, reminding him of the love so abundantly shared within his circle.
Alex was preceded in death by his grandmother, Maude Armstrong, whose love and guidance laid the foundation for the kind-hearted soul Alex grew to be.
A visitation will be held at Neal Funeral Home located at 200 South Washington Avenue, Cleveland, TX, on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating Alex's life will follow on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Ryan Cemetery.
Though Alex may no longer walk this earth, his spirit and the love he shared will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. His laughter, kindness, and zest for life will echo through the stories shared and the memories cherished. He will be missed dearly, yet the impact of his life will forever remain a guiding light for those he left behind.
