Alexander Charles Brzezinski, born on April 5, 1947 in Detroit, MI passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025. He was the beloved son of the late Stanley Brzezinski and Doris (LaGrow) Brzezinski.Alex or "Mr. Al" was known for his outgoing and commanding personality, smile and sense of humor. He was always quick with a joke or witty comment which brought joy and laughter to in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by service. Alex participated in the lives of his children as the hockey assistant coach, ice skating club president, and Lakeview High School Band parent. His voice often boomed in the crowd cheering for his children and their teams. After his retirement he continued his acts of service as an active volunteer at his local senior center. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.Alex is survived by his loving children Matthew Brzezinski and Heather Pillars (husband Tom), grandchildren: Sydney, Sophie and Sam Pillars, as well as his former wife Bridget Stroka. Additionally, Alex leaves behind several friends and neighbors that together formed a supportive community. Alex is predeceased by his parents Stanley and Doris (LaGrow) Brzezinski.
Alex attended St. Elizabeth high school in Detroit, Michigan. He married his former wife Bridget at St. John The Evangelist Church in Detroit on October 11,1968 and they built a life and family together. Alex had an adaptable spirit as he navigated a wide array of careers before owning and operating the family business Pearl Distribution, a bread and baked good delivery service. Alex finished his career retiring from Palmer Moving and Storage.
Outside of his work Alex found joy in word puzzles, watching his favorite movies, and playing bocce. He enjoyed feeding birds and ducks as well as volunteering time at the Great Lakes rabbit sanctuary with his son.
In a final act of service Alexander gave the gift of knowledge through his anatomical donation to the University of Michigan Medical School, aiding in medical education and research. A private memorial celebration will be held to honor the life of Alexander.
