Alexander Franklin "Boomer" Knight passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center, gone too soon at the age of 38.

He spent most of his life in and around his hometown of Mechanicsburg, PA. Alex was the third child of Greg and Louise Knight, and joined his older siblings, Geoffrey and Rachel, on November 23, 1986.

Alex was beloved by his friends, family, and pets over the years.

Alex preferred to spend his time outside, active, and, importantly, free of rules. He loved BMX biking, snowboarding, kayaking, camping, fishing, and playing frisbee golf. He traveled across the world with his friends and family, and he particularly cherished his adventures in Spain, Egypt, Crete, Hawaii, and the Galapagos Islands.

He also loved spending time with his many friends and always took the time to check in on their health and happiness. Those closest to Alex knew he cared deeply about was Important to him. He was eager to debate about anything from the San Francisco 49ers and the Liverpool Football Club to how we care for our environment and treat each other.

Alex graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in 2025 and Shippensburg University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in geo-environmental studies. He was proud of his work in the water industry and the value it provide4d to his community. He had plans of one day continuing his education in the field.

Alex will be missed by all who knew him. The Knight family will honor Alex at a celebration of his life at a time to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Speranza Animal Rescue or Shatterproof, an organization focused on increasing access to recovery, prevention, and mental health resources for everyone who needs them.
