Alexander MacKinnon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wright's Funeral Parlor - Kerrville from Feb. 17 to Feb. 18, 2026.
Alexander MacKinnon passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on February 8, 2026 at the age of 84.
Alex was born in Glasgow, Scotland on January 23rd, 1942. He was the son of Alexander and Catherine MacKinnon. He graduated secondary school and obtained his apprenticeship as a tool and die maker.
Alex moved from Glasgow to Indianapolis in 1969 to pursue the American Dream. He started in aerospace manufacturing and retired a business owner, president of MacKinnon Precision Machine Inc. in Pearland Tx in 2006. Alex and Carol built their dream home in 2007 in the beautiful Hill Country on Tierra Linda Ranch and spent many happy years there.
Alex was an avid supporter of the Glasgow Celtics Football Club and a member of the Houston Bobby Lennox Celtics Supporters Club. Hail! Hail!
Alex had a love for fitness and could be found in the gym or swimming miles in the pool weekly. Other hobbies included golf, fishing, thrifting, reading, and watching movies.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Carol MacKinnon, who was his partner and best friend; his sons, Cameron MacKinnon (Allison), Brian MacKinnon, and Alex MacKinnon; and his daughters, Marnie MacKinnon and Cathy MacKinnon. He was a proud and cherished grandfather to Maci, Mia, Brody, Owen, Ainsley, Caitlyn, and Connor, each of whom brought him immense happiness. He is also survived by his dear sister, Catherine Smith, and his brother, Jackie MacKinnon; his faithful canine companion, Mack, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Wrights Funeral Parlor. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate his life. In honoring him, we find comfort in the love he gave so freely and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.
May he rest in peace. "You'll Never Walk Alone"
