Alexander "Al" S. Rutta, age 72, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away September 15, 2023 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital. He was born on April 12, 1951 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin to Stanley and Christine (Ciesielski) Rutta. Al grew up in Stevens Point and eventually settled in Wisconsin Rapids in 1985.
Al graduated from Pacelli Catholic High School in 1969 where he was a gifted athlete and excelled especially in football and baseball. After high school Al attended Stevens Point University and was a member of the Pointer's baseball team.
Al's career in the automobile industry began as a car salesman early on, and ended with him being the general sale's manager at Brostrom-Kickert Chevrolet in Wisconsin Rapids for 34 years before retiring. Al will be remembered for his sharp wit, athleticism, and passion to enjoy life. He enjoyed watching sports, playing cards, and was an exceptional golfer; he was a long standing member at Bull's Eye Country Club and regularly enjoyed playing golf with family and friends.
Al married his best friend, and the love of his life, Ann (Taylor) in July of 1990. Al and Ann enjoyed traveling, playing golf together, and spending time with their close friends and children.
Al is survived by his wife Ann; his six children Brad Rutta of Plover, WI, Amy (Erik) Tamlyn of Cass City, MI, Peter Jennings, Tim (Pam) Jennings, Andrew (Jaime) Jennings, and Ben (Sara) Jennings all of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; his grandchildren: Alexis and Gabe Tamlyn, Chelsea (Joe), Aaron (Whitney), Angela (Matt), Aliyah, Claira, Emery, and Milo Jennings; great-grandchildren: Ollie, Remi, Madden and Scotty; his sister Rosemary Kryecki (Paul Hamm); and many nieces and nephews.
Al was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Taylor Jennings.
Al's family would like to express their appreciation for the care he received from the ICU staff at Riverview Hospital, especially from Bill, his favorite RN. As per Al's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. A celebration of life for immediate family and close friends will be planned for a future date.

My deepest sympathy to Al's family. I worked will Al for 9 years as a parts person at Brostrom-Kickert. He was a fun guy to mess with and took a razzing well. He will be missed for sure.
