Alexandra Gravina Obituary

Alexandra "Alex" Gravina, a devoted mother, wife, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, at the Hospice House in Concord, New Hampshire, after a brief and unexpected illness. She was surrounded by the love of her family during her final moments. Alexandra was only 41 years old, a life far too short for someone who gave so much love and light to others.

Born on September 25, 1983, in Brooklyn, New York, Alexandra entered the world alongside her twin brother, Theodore, to the late Muriel (Gravina) Ocon. She grew up in Brooklyn, later in Rock Tavern, NY and graduated from Burke Catholic High School in 2001. Alex also earned an associate degree from Orange County Community College in Middletown, NY. On December 31, 2009, she married the love of her life, Shaun P. Read, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family in Hooksett, New Hampshire, where they made their home for the past eight years.

Alexandra's greatest joy and proudest role in life was being a mother. She poured her heart and soul into raising her three beloved children, Aidan Gravina, Abigail Read and Benjamin Read. She made sure they never missed a moment that mattered-whether it was a school event, sports game, birthday party, or celebration, Alexandra was always there, cheering them on and ensuring they felt supported and loved.

Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her own family-whether through her work in special education at David R. Cawley Middle School in Hooksett, where she built cherished friendships, or later as a nanny, where she cared for children as if they were her own. Alexandra's love, kindness, and selflessness touched everyone she met.

Alexandra also treasured the time she spent with her friends. She loved going out, sharing laughs, and creating countless memories that will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. Her radiant smile and joyful spirit made every gathering brighter, and she had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued.

She will be remembered for her overwhelming love for her family, her devotion to her children, and her ability to make life's moments meaningful. To know Alexandra was to know unconditional love.

A few hobbies that Alex enjoyed was gardening, crocheting and making anything around her to just simply look nice.

Alexandra is survived by her loving husband, Shaun; her children, Aidan, Abigail, and Benjamin; her twin-brother, Theodore "Ted" Gravina; and her in-laws, Marianne and Craig Read. She also leaves behind many dear friends, extended family and her beloved dogs Pancake and Willow and her cat Ember who will miss her deeply.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Raymond Funeral Home, 2 Epping St., Raymond, NH. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 30, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by burial at Head Cemetery in Hooksett, New Hampshire.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alexandra's memory to Lustgarten Foundation for pancreatic cancer research at https://lustgarten.org/get-involved/?form=give

Yesterday

Alex loved spending time with her family and friends making sure these days were memorable, especially during holidays. My first Halloween in the United States she took me with her family apple picking and we finished the day by painting pumpkins to what she said " I think we went a little crazy pumpkin painting!" I will forever cherish all the memories we made together. Love you always xoxo
