Alexandria Benitez Burtnick

Alexandria Benitez Burtnick, 80, of Waldorf Maryland passed on June 19, 2024. She was born Alejandra Benitez on October 27, 1943 to Pedro Benitez and Angelina Benitez Diaz in Mexico City, DF, Mexico.
Alex came to our country at the age of 12 with her mother. She married Raymond Burtnick, and together they raised two children, David and Deborah.
She considered herself a teacher, first and foremost. She was a Spanish teacher at DeMatha Catholic High School for many years. She was also the CEO of Consolidated Photocopy Co, founded by Raymond, after his untimely passing.
She truly enjoyed travelling and experiencing other cultures and cuisine. She was fortunate enough to travel all over the world, as far north as Alaska and as far south as Australia. In recent years, she enjoyed playing bingo and card games such as Phase 10 with friends and grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents and husband, she is survived by her two children, David Burtnick and Debbie Spencer, and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Waldorf, Md, on Monday, July 1, at 10 AM, followed by mass at 11. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Md.
