Alexia Kae Roberts Barben passed away peacefully in her home on July 11, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 21, 1967, in Blanding, Utah, she was the third child of Bill and LaVerl Roberts.
Alexia’s life was centered on faith, family, and service. She brought light into the lives of everyone she met with her kindness, sincerity, and joyful spirit. Her laughter lifted others, her words brought comfort, and her gentle strength was a quiet anchor for those she loved.
She is survived by her cherished mother, LaVerl Roberts, and her siblings: Jalaine (Jim) Black, Ben (Shelly) Roberts, Mike (Liza) Roberts, Ryan (Haily) Roberts, and Regan Roberts. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Bill Roberts.
The joy of Alexia’s life was her family. She is survived by her eternal companion, Jeff Barben, whom she married in the Manti Utah Temple on March 19, 1988. Together they raised nine children, and seven cherished grandchildren who were her pride and joy:
Alauna (Loni) McGahan, her husband Michael, and their children Aidan, Jenessa, and LilaJade Barben, his wife Lindsey, with their children Charlotte and SethKaycia Moyle, her husband Nick, with their children April and GreysonAmberli Siggard and her husband TateTaysen, Landon, Dawson, Alton, and Brennan BarbenAlexia was a devoted disciple, homemaker, and nurturer. She dedicated herself to creating a warm, faith-centered home. Her talents were many — she educated her children, she was passionate about healthy living, she loved America and it’s history, and she also had a gift for canning (her salsa was legendary). Her love for natural remedies, homemade soaps, and thoughtful traditions left a lasting legacy. She loved attending plays and musical performances and seeing her children performing and playing sports.
A graduate of San Juan High School in 1985, Alexia excelled in sports — basketball, volleyball, softball, track and tennis — and was honored with the “Most Athletic Woman” as a senior. She received the Sterling Scholar Award in Ag Science. She went on to attend Snow College, where she played softball, and sang with the LD Singers, where she met Jeff, the love of her life.
Alexia lived her life in quiet strength, with deep spiritual conviction to her Savior, Jesus Christ. She had a profound ability to see others as children of God, and she treated everyone with compassion and respect. She loved playing games with her family, serving in her church, and lifting those around her.
Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in the knowledge that Alexia is reunited with loved ones who have gone before, and we look forward to the day we will see her again. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, selfless love, and the grace with which she lived.
