Alexia Nicole Guiton was born in
Missouri City, TX on October 27th, 1997, at Fort Bend Hospital to loving parents Cynthia and Anthony Guiton. From the very beginning, Alexia's light was unmistakable, and although she was born with Down Syndrome, she surpassed every milestone and expectation put her before her. Dr. Subodh Bhuchar was her only doctor for her 28 years of life. The focus was always on what she could do, and not what she couldn't do. Her siblings also shaped who she became, treating her no differently despite her disability. Alexia was one of four siblings: her older sister Brittany, her twin sister Alexis (Twin A), and her younger brother AJ. As a twin, she shared an unbreakable bond with Alexis, but she also cherished her role as a sister to Brittany and AJ.
Growing up, Alexia attended Kate Bell Elementary and Johnston Middle in the HISD district. She later continued her education in Alvin ISD, attending Nolan Ryan Junior High, Manvel High School, and Shadow Creek High School in the transition program, graduating in 2020 at the beginning of COVID. During these formative years, she blossomed academically, socially, and athletically. Alexia's passion for athletics shone brightly when she joined the Special Olympics in high school. She proudly competed in bowling, basketball, soccer, softball, and track- bringing home numerous gold, silver, and bronze medals. Bowling quickly became her favorite sport, and she continued playing as a cherished member of the Shining Stars, sponsored by Pearland Park's and Recreation, under the leadership of Ms. Araceli.
Dedicated to community and empowerment, Alexia was also affiliated with Gigi's Playhouse in Sugarland and formed her own nonprofit in 2013- setting a powerful example of leadership and purpose that guided her life beyond her school years.
Alexia worked for 7 years with Aramark, Inc. She worked the Houston Rodeo, Houston Texans games, and any concerts held at NRG Stadium.
Alexia had a vibrant personality and a joyful spirit. She loved technology often using her phone, iPad, and other gaming systems. She loved to travel, both in airplanes and on cruises, and staying in hotels. Food was also another one of her passions which included Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, Raising Cane's, Chick-fil-A, and McDonald's. She loved shopping. Bling was her ring- true diva and fashionista.
Above all, Alexia loved all her family. She shared a special bond with her mother, Cynthia, who was her greatest advocate. Her father, Anthony, made provisions in healthcare keeping her healthy and safe, ensuring she had what she needed to thrive. Her siblings were her lifelong friends and protectors each holding a unique piece of her heart. Alexia's personality was full of love- pure, genuine, and bright. She was known for her contagious joy. She eagerly looked forward to time with her family, friends, and community, always greeting others with her signature smile and her favorite phrase: "Yes, please," often followed by a cheerful thumbs-up.
Alexia is preceded in death by her great-grandparents Belton and Marie Bell, her grandfathers Frank Jamerson and Clarence Guiton, and her uncle Oscar Guiton.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving parents Cynthia and Anthony Guiton; her sisters Brittany (Samuel) and Alexis (German); her brother AJ; and her one and only niece Alana, whom she adored and called her "Smart Cookie". Grandmothers Effie Keller and Pearlie Guiton. Aunt Regina Coleman, Uncle Michael (Vonner) Jamerson, Robert (Michelle) Jamerson, and Marcus Jamerson. Uncle Charles (Sylvia) Guiton, Uncle Keymond (Sandra) Guiton, Uncle Kenneth (Lisa) Guiton, and Uncle James Guiton. Along with a host of extended family, cousins, friends, teachers and community members whose lives she touched.
Though her physical journey has ended, the love she shared remains endless. Heaven welcomes its newest angel- Alexia.
