Alexis Vladimir Munoz Romero "Scrappy" from the Dominican Republic passed away on October 16, 2025. It is with deep sadness that we announce the the passing of Alexis Vladimir Munoz Romero, lovingly known as "Scrappy". Born in the Dominican Republic, Vladdy was a devoted father, beloved son, loyal brother, and friend to many. Vladdy honored his roots yet became a proud US citizen over a decade ago.
He married his first love, Janelle, on May 12, 2009 and together they raised their daughter, Araliza Marie, and stepson Kieyan. He later spent 4 years with his second wife, Melissa and gained a beloved stepson, Paxton, in the process. Known for his sharp wit, humor and magnetic personality, Vladdy brought joy to everyone around him. He was truly the life of the party.
A gifted athlete, Vladdy was part of the 2004 World Series Championship team at Cumberland University. His love for baseball was lifelong. He later dedicated over a decade to IDT Corporation, where he was respected for his work ethic and strong relationships.
He leaves behind countless friends, especially Moises, Tom, and Pam, Lindsey and Jake, Laura and Winston, whose love and loyalty meant the world to him.
Vladdy is preceded in death by his wife, Janelle Munoz; he is survived by his daughter, Araliza Munoz; stepsons, Kieyan and Paxton; ex-wife, Melissa Munoz; siblings, Felix (Megan) Munoz, Fausto Munoz, Araliza (Cesar) Nunez Munoz, parents, Fausto and Birelsa Munoz, and many nieces and nephews.
His body will be laid to rest in the Dominican Republic, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 10:00am-11:00am at Long Hollow Church in Hendersonville, TN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support his daughter Araliza's future and cover expenses in sending him home.
