Alfonso Williams Jr.

Alfonso Williams Jr., 87, died on 20 July 2023. He was born on 24 Dec.1936 to Alfonso Williams Sr. and Bennie Mae Ferguson in Clairton, PA.
After graduating from high school, Alfonso met and married Lillie Smith in December 1956. Shortly after, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served 4 years. After an Honorable discharge, Alfonso moved the family to Brooklyn, NY and then to Englewood, NJ in 1966.
After moving to New Jersey, he worked several jobs with- Building Services Co., Westchester Medical Center, the now defunct PAN AM airlines, as well as miscellaneous and varied side hustles! Being one of the hardest working men in America, Alfonso worked most of his jobs simultaneously.
In 1970, Alfonso became owner/operator of A&W Maintenance Co. He continued to run his successful business until he retired in 2000, and moved to Virginia Beach, VA, where he and Lillie, his wife of 67 years would reside...
Alfonso and Lillie have 4 children – Victoria (husband Carl), Linelle (now deceased), Adrian (wife, Valerie) and Jeffery (wife, Lelani).
He is a brother to 6 siblings- Regis, James, Eric, and Clara Ann ( all 4 now deceased) and 2 surviving siblings -Delores husband Butch (of Mckeesport,PA ) and Rodney Williams (of Mckeesport, PA). Alfonso leaves many nieces, nephews and four grandchildren, as well as many friends to mourn his passing.
Alfonso will be forever remembered as a loving and devoted family man, who had a meaningful impact on everyone he met, with a passion for life and Jazz.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11am on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel. A service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11am, followed by interment in Colonial Grove Memorial Park.
