Alfred Dalton Backlin, age 81, passed away August 5, 2025. He worked hard for many years as a welder for several companies and also logged with his brother, Max. He greatly enjoyed fishing and especially eating fish. Family members will dearly miss his calls, "Let's go get some fish!" He was a member at Vernal Full Gospel and loved listening to old southern gospel. He cherished time with his family, and was greatly looking forward to meeting his brand new great-great nephew, Niko.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Shelia Backlin; son, Stevie Backlin; parents, Kate and Eley Backlin; siblings, Marlon Backlin and Max Backlin; niece, Cynthia Backlin; nephew Dewain Backlin.

Those left to cherish his memory include his siblings, Darwin (Virgie) Backlin, and Elleane Backlin Weaver; nieces, Personal Assistants and chauffeurs, Deniece Churchwell (Donnis Guin) and Brandy Weaver (Keylon) Smith; special little buddies, Bentley and Boston Manning; numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended relatives, and friends.

The Visitation will be Friday, August 8, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Brandon Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.
