Alfred Dale "Peck" Constable

Alfred Dale "Peck" Constable, age 89, of Barry, IL passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at his home. He was born on March 27, 1936, in New Canton, IL to Clarence S. and Edna A. (Tittsworth) Constable. He married Nancy A. Rumple, in Griggsville, IL on December 31, 1959, and she survives.

Alfred worked at Electric Wheel, and Prairie Farms, but his favorite job was driving a semi-truck. He drove 22 years for ABF until his retirement. He was a faithful member of Barry Baptist church, where he was a trustee, deacon, and usher over the years and enjoyed his work there.

Alfred liked the outdoors, hunting with his coonhound- Smokey, fishing with family and grandkids, camping and traveling. He also appreciated a good Western on TV, and a fast car. The love of his life was Nancy and his family- they were able to celebrate their 50th anniversary with a trip to Alaska. He loved watching his family grow and spend time with them. Alfred was dependable, faithful, known as a good person who was always ready to help when needed and he and Nancy were big supporters of children in need.

He is survived by; his loving wife, Nancy Constable of Barry, IL; daughters, Kimberly Ann (Rod) Wood of Springfield, IL, Kathern Ann (Jeff) Capps of Naples, FL, and Lori Lee Constable of Chatham, IL; grandchildren, Lucas (Melissa) Conkling, Patrick (Linda) Capps, Zachary Constable, Meagan Wood, Jordan Wood, Lauren (Adam) Hargis; great grandchildren, Camdyn Wood-Morris, Austyn Fanning, Isla Capps, Olivia Capps, Calum Hargis, Norah Hargis, and a baby on the way; brothers, Ronald (Karen) Constable of Barry, IL, and Thomas Constable of Ursa, IL; sister, Freda Predmore; and sister in-law, Judy Constable.

He was preceded in death by; parents, Clarence and Edna; brothers, Harold and Gary Constable; sisters, Patricia (William) Smith, and Carolyn (David)Ruble; granddaughter, Erin Michelle Capps; in-laws, Shirley and Bernice Rumple; and brother in-law, Robert Predmore.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Niebur Funeral Chapel, in Barry, IL at 1:00 pm. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. Interment to follow the service at Parklawn Cemetery in Barry, IL. Memorials are suggested to the Barry Baptist Church, Barry EMT/Fire Department, and Blessing Hospice.
