Alfred Kelly Inmon, 75, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away February 15, 2025. He was born May 17, 1949, in Stuttgart, Arkansas to the late George and Leota Inmon.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Faye Black, Charley Inmon, Velma Klinger, Melvin Inmon, Sr.; great-granddaughter, Noa Lucas; and his nieces, Melba Sanders and June Allen. Alfred is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gay Inmon; children, Angela Dodge, Melanie Inmon, Charles Cadie. Sr.; four grandchildren, Jacob Dodge, Tim Lucas, Ashley Lucas and Justin Lucas; and one great-grandson, Timothy Jr., and one great-grand on the way; nieces and nephews, Faye Neldon, Sheryl Osbun, Frances “Jo” Jones, William “Sandy” Klinger, and Melvin “Buddy” Inmon, Jr.; along with a host of family and friends. He was also survived by his best friend “William,” the family dog.
Alfred grew up in Almyra, Arkansas and graduated from DeWitt High School. He served two years in the United States Army as a generator mechanic after high school. He retired from Batesville Casket Company after 36 years.
Alfred and Gay enjoyed spending time together traveling to the casino and down along the coast. Alfred enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing. He also loved catching a NASCAR race and spending time with his grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107). Inurnment will follow at 1:00 PM at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
