Alfred Frank "Butch" Mori

Alfred Frank "Butch" Mori, 87, of Tall Timbers, Maryland, formerly of Hillside, Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026 surrounded by family. Visitation will be held at St. George Catholic Church in Valley Lee, Maryland, on March 16, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. under the direction of Rev. John Nguyen and Rev. Paul Nguyen.

Alfred, or as his family and friends called him, Butch, was born in Washington, D.C. to Alfred Mori and Florence White on November 9, 1938. Butch enjoyed playing football at Suitland High School. After his graduation, he started an apprenticeship as a steamfitter and spent his entire career as a member of the Steamfitters Local 602. He was locally known for driving the "Chev Wagon" with his brother Gene, for over forty years as part of Mori Brothers Racing. He married the love of his life, Joyce on August 10, 1957. Butch and Joyce were married for 68 beautiful years. Together they lovingly raised three children, Debra, Richard and Raymond, in their home in Clinton, Maryland. Butch enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing card games, solving puzzles, fixing anything that was broken, eating peanuts, and enjoying his 8pm evening ice cream scoop. He especially enjoyed afternoons with loved ones and a bushel of Maryland blue crabs.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Florence Mori and brother Gene Mori. He is remembered with love by wife Joyce Mori; sister, Ida Finch; daughter Deb White (Michael); son Rick Mori; son Ray Mori (Shuryl "Doody"); along with 6 grandchildren, George White (Ashley), Tony Mori, Michael Mori, Mindi Finamore (Kara), Rob White (Ian), and David Mori; and 3 great-grandchildren, Camille White, Vincent Finamore, and Carmine Finamore. He will also be missed by a large network of extended family and friends.
