Alfred Rivas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alamo Funeral Chapel on Dec. 10, 2025.
Alfred Rivas Jr., born on February 15, 1963, in San Antonio, TX was sent to his eternal home on December 7, 2025.

Alfred was known for being the life of the party, he loved fishing and being surrounded by family and friends. He was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by his presence.

Alfred is preceded in death by his father, Alfredo G. Rivas Sr. Survived by his wife, Norma Rivas, Mother, Sylvia T. Guzman; Three sisters, Jeanette R. Gregorio, Rosalie R Salas, and Rosemarie Rivas. Three beloved children, Stephanie N. Ruhd, Genevieve M. Guerrero and Alfred D. Rivas, III and five beautiful grandchildren; Joe Guerrero IV, Ethan Vasquez, Ava Jo. Guerrero, Jace Guerrero, and Chloe Rivas.

He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Jacob Valadez, Jennifer Barlow, Capt. Joseph A. Rivas, TSgt. Jonathon M. Rivas, Gilbert Salas III and Estaban-Alfredo Valle.

Alfred loved many things, and one of his greatest loves was supporting his grandchildren in their extra curricular activities, he was so proud of them all. Additionally, he was very proud of his work. Before his passing, he had dreams of going back to work soon and couldn't wait to be released. He traveled as a CNC Machine operator and enjoyed his time on the road. He also really enjoyed his fishing trips with his cousin, Roland, oh the stories they would tell.

Outside of work, Alfred found joy in watching his Dallas Cowboys play, he remained loyal to his team. He always dreamed of owning a Harley Davidson and would visit Harley stores and collect shirts. Those who knew Alfred will remember him for his infectious smile and overwhelming laughter, and his ability to lighten up the room, he had a gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

He will be missed.
