Alfred A. Uhse Jr.

Alfred A. Uhse Jr., "The Running Man", age 72 and a life resident of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 2, 2023 in Lorain. He was born August 19, 1951 in Lorain to the late Alfred A. and Sophie (nee Busich) Uhse. Alfred was a 1969 graduate of Lorain High School after which he enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and served in Germany as a military police officer. While in Germany, he met and married his wife Christa. She came to live in Lorain with their daughter and he soon followed after being discharged. He worked his entire career in the bar mill of United States Steel, Lorain from where he retired. Alfred loved running, bicycling, swimming, and lifting weights. In his childhood he enjoyed playing baseball with his friends at Cromwell Park, Lorain.Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Nicole and Thomas Starr of Texas, son and daughter-in-law Alfred A. III and Susan Uhse of Texas, grandchildren; Brandon Uhse, Erika Uhse, Erin Starr, and Evelyn Martinez, and his sister Alberta Bulan of Vermilion.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Christa Uhse (2022).There will be no service and the family will have a private interment.Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, Lorain entrusted with arrangements.
