To the Blakey Family,
I am truly sorry to hear of Freda's passing. We were roommates when I moved to Charlottesville (Freda, Wanda, and Emma). We were like sisters. She was such a beautiful person. Freda had a smile that would light up a room! She will never be forgotten. I remember how much she loved her family and how dedicated she was to her family. I hope the memories you have a Freda will comfort you during these very difficult times. The first thing I did after I heard of her passing was to look at some of pictures of her. The tears came, but also the laughter as I though of all the good times we had together.
Stay strong, for God will walk with you during these difficult days. Freda wants you to be happy and not cry for her because she is now free of pain.
Psalm 30:5
Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Dear Mrs. Blakey & All of Alfreda's Family,
We join with so many families and friends in sending our love and condolences to you all. I have known Alfreda since my return to Virginia over 10 years ago; we shared flowers from our yard and stories about our families. I always looked forward to seeing and talking with her at different church gatherings. During her illness, I have also come to know and speak with family members. Our continuous prayers have been for your and her strength in the Lord's decision for her. We join in knowing that she is now safely resting in the arms of God and her memories as does her bright smile continue to be remembered by we who knew and loved her. May God continue to bless you all.

To Blakey Family,
May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God your Father encourage you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say. God loved us, and through his grace he gave us a good hope and encouragement that continues forever. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
May the grace of God smile upon each of you during this time. For God is a Comforter and a Healer and He shall see you through. Freda will truly be missed but never forgotten. No matter the storms of life she faced. She always had a beautiful smile upon her face. She was a very kind, sweet and gentle soul. The storms of life never made her bitter or cold. She's home now. Free from pain, Free from hurt and life's rain. She resting in the arms of the Almighty. For He has wipe away her tears and calmed her every fear." We shall meet again in that great gettin up morning. Fare ye well." God Bless you all.

Freeda was such a lovely person with an infectious laugh and smile which lit up the room when she entered. We have often spoken of her in our conversations about how she could influence for good everyone that she had contact with. We will certainly miss her; but realize that God always does what is best. We surrender to His Will and wait for that great Reunion in the not too distant future.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

God only picks the good flowers and Freda was one of his best. A dear person who was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she forever rest in peace, safe in the arms of the Lord.
