Alfredo Rico Jr., age 29, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the afternoon of September 14, 2025 at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Funeral services for Alfredo will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials in Alfredo’s name may be directed to his family for a later designation. Alfredo Ramiro Rico Jr. was born January 23, 1996 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was the son of Alfredo Rico Sr. and Jill Guzman (Jordan). Alfredo grew up in Marshalltown, Iowa and attended school in the Marshalltown School District. He grew up attending church at Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown where he later became a member. He was a jack of all trades and did handyman work throughout the Marshalltown area. In his free time, he loved working on cars. He additionally enjoyed going to the Marshalltown Speedway to watch the races. In his younger years, he enjoyed going out and spending afternoons fishing.
Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his daughter, Jill-lena Rico; his parents, Alfredo Sr. (Nora) Rico and Jill Guzman; his grandparents, Lena Jordan and Ramiro Rico; his siblings, Tyler Jordan, Miguel Rico, Arturo (Shyanna) Rico, Matthew Erney, Austin (Lilly) Rico, Agueda Diaz, Alejandro Rico and Jovanni Guzman. He is additionally survived by numerous aunts and uncles and his cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rita Rico Sanchez, Robert Jordan; his sister, Mariah Jordan; his three uncles, John Jordan, Jim Jordan and Doug Jordan; aunt, Brenda Collazo (Neave) along with several loved family members.
