Alfredo Q. Ritz, 86, died on Friday, August 15, 2025, at The Ranch House, in Garden City, Kansas. He was born in Taylor, Texas, on October 31, 1938, to Rodolfo Victor Ritz and Frances Ceballos Ritz. He cherished his roots in Texas but embraced Garden City as his home for many years.

Alfred was married to his beloved wife, Adelina (Cruz) Ritz, on September 3, 1958. Their 64 years together were filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for each other.

Throughout his life, Alfredo was a dedicated servant leader, committed to uplifting his community. His passion for coaching at the Garden City Boxing Club made him a mentor to countless young athletes, fostering confidence and resilience in their lives. Alfredo's entrepreneurial spirit shone through as he successfully managed various businesses while cherishing time spent outdoors-fishing and nurturing his beautiful garden with Koi ponds.

He was not only an incredible husband and father but also a friend and guiding light to many. Alfredo took the time to connect with everyone personally, leaving a lasting impact on their hearts.

He is survived by his loving wife, Adelina, and their wonderful children: Tina Ritz, Barbara Ritz, Alfred Ritz, and Peggy Rios. Alfredo also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren who will carry his legacy of kindness and community spirit forward.

A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. open Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City, with Fr. Ben Green as Celebrant. The service may also be viewed on Facebook Live on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook Page. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. We invite everyone who knew and loved Alfredo to join us in celebrating his remarkable life and the joy he brought to so many. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at Garnand Funeral Home. Condolences may be given at garnandfuneralhomes.com.
