Algernon Williamson Obituary

With heavy hearts but grateful spirits, we celebrate the homegoing of Algernon Williamson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and servant of God who has transitioned from labor to reward.

Algernon was the devoted husband of Pamela Williamson and a loving father to his daughter Zenobia and stepson Larry. He was a proud and joyful grandfather to Zaire and Zaniyah, whose lives were brightened by his presence. He is also survived by his sisters Mary, Sharon, and Cheryl, and his brother Donald, along with a host of cherished nieces and nephews who loved him deeply.

Algernon faithfully served his country in the United States Navy, answering the call of duty with honor and integrity. After his military service, he continued a life of service with the United States Post Office, where he worked diligently for many years until his well-earned retirement. Throughout his career, he was blessed to receive numerous certificates and praise for his excellence, commitment, and strong work ethic.

Beyond his professional life, Algernon had a God-given passion for softball. He played with heart and purpose for the Murderer's Row and Snowbird teams and was honored as an MVP in the Jersey Journal, a reflection of the joy, discipline, and determination that he brought to everything he did.

Most of all, Algernon was a man of character, strength, and love. He walked with quiet faith, steady wisdom, and a generous spirit. His life reminds us of the scripture: "Well done, good and faithful servant." Though we mourn his physical absence, we rejoice in knowing he is now resting in the arms of the Lord.

Algernon's legacy will live on through the family he raised, the lives he touched, and the example he set. Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal, and we take comfort in knowing that one day, we shall meet again.
