Alice Faye Baker, 95, of Logansport, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Logansport.
Born on November 19, 1927, in Burrows, Alice is the daughter of the late William “Floyd” and Ruth (Johnsonbaugh) Ginther. Alice had worked as a waitress for Woolworth’s in the Harvest House Restaurant. She also worked in the dining room at Happy Burger East.
Alice was a former member and pianist at Broadway Alliance Church and also attended the Logansport Church of the Brethren and Hillcrest Baptist Church. She enjoyed listening to Ol’time gospel quartets, especially the Blackwood Brothers and the Statesmen. She also enjoyed the Irish Tenors and doing word search puzzles. Most important to Alice was her family, she loved getting together for meals and playing the piano.
Surviving Alice are two daughters, Monica Burkett of Logansport; Anita (Daryl) Lynch of Logansport; four grandchildren, Chris (Wayne) Wescott; Troy (Lori) Oberlander; Susan Oberlander-Smith; Janelle (Joe) Hill; three great grandchildren; Jessica Wescott, Trinity Smith, and Aiden Hill.
Alice was preceded in death by a daughter, LaWana M. Leslie; a brother, John O. Ginther and a grandson, Jared Burkett.
A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Aaron Gross officiating. Burial will take place in the Burrows Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until the time of service on Wednesday.
