Alice Marie Bolam (née Schuhriemen), age 96, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, in Aultman Hospital. A lifelong resident of Massillon, Alice was born there on July 31, 1929, to Ralph and Catherine Schuhriemen.
Alice graduated from Massillon High School. She married William Bolam on May 11, 1957. Staying home to raise her children, she returned to work at Aultman Hospital, retiring in 1994.
A devoted member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Alice found strength and community in her faith throughout her life. Her spiritual foundation was a guiding light that shaped her values and relationships.
Alice was the proud mother of four children: Scott (Kathy) Bolam, Regina (Dennis) Ravine, Ralph (Shari) Bolam, and Brian (Trina) Bolam. She also cherished her role as grandmother to eleven grandchildren and GiGi to 13 great-grandchildren plus 2 soon to join the family. Her family brought her immense joy and remained a central part of her life.
She is also survived by her brother Ralph (Pat) Schuhriemen of California and sister Anna Mae Snoddy also of California, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 2004, her parents and a sister, Ruth.
In addition to her professional accomplishments and devotion to family, Alice embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm. She was an avid reader who continued to download books on her Kindle at the age of 96-a testament to her lifelong love of learning. In earlier years, she enjoyed playing cards and camping, activities that brought laughter and connection with those around her.
Alice’s long life was marked by resilience, kindness, and a quiet strength that touched all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her and inspiration to all who reflect on a life well lived.
