Alice M. (DeLaFlerrinere), age 75, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving husband, James A. Burns, Jr. of 57 years, on November 2, 2024. Born in Boston, she was the daughter to the late Charles E. DeLaFlerrinere and Lucille (Holmes) DeLaFlerrinere, and was educated at Boston Public Schools, graduating from the Jeremiah Burke High School, Class of 1967. A longtime resident of Stoughton, she and her husband James married in 1967, and moved to the town in 1972, raising their children and starting their lives together. Alice was a licensed daycare provider and held a daycare out of her home for many years as a reputable part of the town, showcasing her care for children and their families. She went on to work at Headstart and Brockton Public Schools as a Teacher’s Aide for several years before retiring in 2015. She was family oriented, enjoyed traveling with her husband, and was an avid reader, enjoying a good paperback book.
In addition to her beloved husband James, Alice is survived by her children Tammi P. Gay and her husband Harold, Tiffany O’Neil and her husband Sean, Jason Burns, and his wife Marqueta, Brandon Burns and his wife Danielle, and was preceded in death by her son James A. Burns. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Family services were held privately.
