Alice Courchesne Obituary

Alice Courchesne
1950 - 2025
Alice (Parker) Courchesne died peacefully on the morning of Saturday, January 4, following a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Manchester, CT, to parents Edward and Ruby (Fuller) Parker. Alice was raised and educated in Bolton, CT, before moving to Manchester and graduating from Manchester High School in 1968 prior to enrolling at A.J. Prince Regional Vocational Technical School, where she earned her Nursing Certificate. In 1976, she married Earl P. Courchesne. The couple would enjoy (or lovingly tolerate) 45 years together, until Earl's passing in 2021. Alice and Earl raised two beloved sons together, Earl and Eddy, who fondly recall their mother's unwavering support.
Dedicated and compassionate to her core, Alice devoted her career to the care of residents at the Bidwell Care Center, Manchester Manor, Fox Hill Nursing Home, and Crestfield Rehab. Her bedside manner and sense of humor were a blessing to those in her care. Alice subsequently spent time working as a home health aid, before retiring to focus on her own health and well-being.
Alice leaves behind a legacy of love, including her two devoted sons, Earl and wife Ivania of Waterford, and Edward "Eddy" and wife Kim of South Windsor, and her three dear grandchildren, Alessandra, Ariella, and Jackson. She is also survived by her niece Lisa Carlson and husband Scott Plourde of Manchester, as well as many extended family members. In addition to her husband Earl, Alice was preceded in death by her sister Mary Ellen Carlson and her nephew Larry Carlson.
Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Street, Manchester, CT 06040. Burial services for Alice and Earl will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 10, at East Cemetery, 240 E. Center Street, Manchester, CT 06040. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org. For online condolences, please visit www.tierneyfuneralhome.com.
