Alice "Fay" Daugherty

Alice "Fay" Daugherty, age 88, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on July 12, 1937, in Frankfort, Kentucky, to the late Elmer and Louise White.

Fay was known for her gentle spirit, creative hands, and deep love for her family. She found great joy in quilting, carefully stitching warmth and care into every piece she made. She also loved to travel, especially when it meant making memories with those she loved. Above all else, Fay's greatest happiness came from being surrounded by her family.

She was lovingly known as "Gran" to her granddaughter, Christina Louise (Daugherty) Zebrowski, a name she carried with great pride and affection. Fay was also a devoted member of the Eastern Star, belonging to the Queen of Esther Chapter, where she valued fellowship and service.

Fay was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Weldon Daugherty; her daughter, Vera Louise "Pixie" Osborne; her sister, Kathryn "Kathy" White; and her sons-in-law, John B. Southern Jr. and Bernard "Bernie" Osborne.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Karen Marie Southern; Karen's children, Treva Southern-Merlau and John C. Southern Sr.; her granddaughter, Christina Louise Zebrowski; husband Anthony; her great-grandchildren, Magnolia and Oliver; her sister, Wilma L. Orr; and her brother, Edward R. White.

Services:

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, where Fay will be laid to rest beside her husband, Weldon Daugherty, and their daughter, Vera Louise "Pixie" Osborne.
