Alice Pfeiffer DeCarlo 91, of Guilford, formerly of East Haven, passed away on July 7, 2024, surrounded by her family, at CT Hospice. Beloved sister of Gloria Pfeiffer and Margaret "Peggy" Russo, both of Guilford, George Pfeiffer of East Haven, and the late Kenneth A. Pfeiffer Sr.; and Robert and William Pfeiffer. Loving aunt of Angela DeCarlo, Lawrence A. (Cheryl) Russo Jr., Kenneth A. Pfeiffer Jr., Patrick Pfeiffer, and the late Carl Pfeiffer and Anthony (Kim) Russo. Alice is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was born in Woodbridge on June 8, 1933, daughter of the late William and Margaret Caruso Pfeiffer. Prior to her retirement, Alice was employed by the former Echlin Manufacturing Company. Alice devoted much of her time to Our Lady of Pompeii Church and was the recipient of The Archdiocese of Hartford St. Joseph Medal of Appreciation.
Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, THURSDAY morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call WEDNESDAY from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, 355 Foxon Rd., East Haven, CT 06513, or CT Hospice at www.hospice.com . Alice, it would take a book to share all my happy memories of you. You have touched our lives more than you can ever know, you were not only our neighbor and friend, you were like a grandma to Abby and a mom to me, and there is a huge hole in my heart without you here. I will miss you beyond words...rest is peace, my sweet lady, love you so very much.
