Alice Wright Duckworth, 104, of Weirton, WV, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2025, at the Weirton Geriatric Center.

She was born on August 30, 1921, in Shirley, WV, one of seven children of the late Riley M. and Birda Baker Wright. A proud graduate of the Tyler County High School Class of 1940, Alice excelled in her studies and served as a cheerleader. During her school years, she dated fellow classmate Cecil Underwood, with whom she and Ducky shared a lifelong friendship.

Alice later married Clarence "Ducky" Duckworth, a former Tyler County High School football star. Together, they made their home in Weirton, WV, where Ducky worked for Weirton Steel and Alice built a long career as a sales associate with Sears, where she worked for over 20 years.

A woman of boundless energy, Alice loved exercise and remained dedicated to her fitness well into her late 80s, making daily visits to the Millsop Community Center until the age of 89. She also found joy in visiting the beaches of Galveston, TX, and treasured her time spent with family and friends.

Alice was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed accompanying her husband to Masonic Lodge events, as well as Osiris Shrine and Tin Lizzy Patrol gatherings. Her strong faith was nurtured at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Weirton.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence "Ducky" Duckworth; her son, Perry Duckworth (January 25, 2025); her daughter, Barbara Ann Duckworth; her brothers, Lester and Orin Wright; and her sisters, Nina Wright, Cleo Weekley, Enabell Davis, and Vivian McKimmie.

Alice will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Debbie (Henry) Zuccolotto; daughter-in-law, Mary Duckworth; her grandsons, Michael (Tina) Duckworth, Kurt (Rachel) Duckworth, Justin (Polina) Zuccolotto, and Brent Zuccolotto; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 2 PM to 5 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will follow at 5 PM with Rev. Larry Barkley officiating.

Alice will be laid to rest beside her husband and daughter on Monday at the Shirley United Methodist Church Cemetery in Shirley, WV.

Alice's family would like to thank the entire staff of Serra Manor and the Weirton Geriatric Center for all the love and care they gave Alice while she was a resident.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Northern Panhandle Shrine Club Children's Travel Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
