Alice Goostree was born on Friday, April 8, 1949 in Salem. Alice was a gift from God and had the heart of a heavenly angel. God called Alice back to heaven on Thursday, May 8, 2025. By taking her back God broke my heart and spirit, but I will always be thankful for the time I had to share with her. Les Goostree was lucky enough to marry Alice on Saturday, December 6, 1969. We loved and helped each other for 55 wonderful years.
Alice had two children whom she loved very much and lost two babies who she hopes to see in heaven. Alice also left behind two wonderful grandkids, Jonathan Dean Simpson and Reese Elizabeth Simpson.
Alice had been struggling with health problems for the past 8 years, but will now have a final resting place in Peaceful Valley Cemetery in her home village of Odin, which she loved very much. A private service will be held later.
Alice will be missed but her husband's love for her will never die.
Memorial contributions for Alice may be made to Les Goostree to help cover her final expenses and will be accepted by the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to Alice's Family. Online condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.sutherlandfuneralhome.com and the Funeral Home Facebook page.
