Alice Marie Zackery Jackson was escorted through the gates of Heaven to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and be reunited with her husband, Elvin R. "Leon" Jackson, Sr., on Friday, December 12, 2025.
Alice was born in Morgantown on March 20, 1931, a daughter of the late Allie and Creed Zackery. Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a modest woman who never sought beauty or accolades. Family was always at the center of her life. She never made a phone call where she didn't ask if each family member and friend was okay. She loved her family with all the love she had, always concerned that they continue their prayers so they would one day be reunited in Heaven. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allie and Creed Zackery, husband, Elvin R. "Leon" Jackson, Sr., twin brother, Raymond Zackery, brothers, Frankie Zackery, Johnny Zackery (Jean), Joe Zackery (Norma Jean), Paul Zackery (Martha), brother, Pete, and sister-in-law, Leona Zackery, sister, Mary, and brother-in-law, Harold Hilling, and Grandson, Humberto "Bert" Moya. She was also recently preceded in death by her beloved dog and cat, Cocoa and Cindy Lou. She is survived by her son, Elvin R. "Richard" Jackson, Jr., and wife Sharon, of Morgantown and daughter, Debbie Drake, of
Pensacola, FL, with whom she made her home; granddaughter, Krista Moya-Atkinson (Jimmie) of Ocala, FL, granddaughter, Shannon Dalton (Jason) of Vancouver, Canada; and great-grandchildren, Zakary Moya and Taylor and Trent Dalton. She is also survived by caring nephews, Gayle "Butch" Zackery (Amber) of Morgantown, Tony Zackery (Luz) of Ocala, FL; and many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
