Alice Jo Kelly

Alice Jo Kelly September 3, 1938 – September 20, 2025 Alice Jo Kelly, 88, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025. Born in Mud Fork Hollow, Logan County, West Virginia, Alice was the daughter of Placido D. Workman and Gracie Mae Baldwin. In 1945, her family moved to Illinois, where she graduated from 8th grade at Kane County Public School in Geneva. At the age of 18, Alice moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she was reunited with her father, Placido Workman. In June 1966, she welcomed her daughter, Dawn Marie, into the world. Alice married Sam Russo in Kentucky in 1971, and they made their home in Dayton, Ohio, until 1977 when they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1980, Alice married Robert E. Kelly, and together they traveled the country in an RV until settling in Lincoln City, Oregon, in 1992, where she lived until her passing. Alice was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Kelly in 2000 and Sam Russo in 2011, as well as her daughters, Diana and Denise, and sons, Sammy and Daniel. She is survived by her sisters, Linda Remilong and Doll Workman, and her brothers, Joe and Larry Workman. She is also survived by her daughter, Dawn Cornejo (Albert), and son, Steve Russo, along with her grandchildren, Albert Cornejo Jr. (Erin), Andrea Reyes Cornejo (Julio), Gabby Laflair, Laurie Carter, Yolanda Bumpus (Michael), Misty Georgeff, Danielle Hendrix (Jon), Shannon Russo, Lea Emrick (Kyle), Dareck Russo, Dana Coleman, and numerous great-grandchildren, including her first great-great-grandchild, Sammy. At her request, there will be no services. After cremation, Alice's remains will be placed with her father in Detroit, Michigan. Alice was greatly loved and admired for her sassiness, determination, and playful sense of humor. Although she could be stubborn and a little challenging at times, her quirky and silly nature always made us feel cherished. She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
