Joan Kelly Obituary
Born in Adams, NY on March 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Nancy Murphy. She moved to Long Island, NY and became a baby nurse at Long Island Jewish Hospital. and Joan settled in Floral Park, NY and raised two beautiful daughters. They retired to Ninety Six, SC in 1989 to their dream home on Lake Greenwood. Joan enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as sewing and gardening.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Theresa of Ninety Six and Elaine (Kenny) of Ninety Six; five grandchildren, Jessica (Way), Kelly (Chris), Brian (Tayler), Caitlin (Jordan) and Connor; and great-grandchildren, Graceyn, Emmett, and Remi. She is also survived by her sister, Kathleen Calen of Luray, VA.
In addition to her husband, Joan was predeceased by a sister, Helen Murphy.
A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
A visitation will be held at Blyth Funeral Home from 6-8 on Friday evening with the Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 915 Mathis Rd, Greenwood, SC 29649.
