Alice (née Lesko) Kovarcik, 96, of Monroe Township, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025. Born and raised in Garfield, Alice resided in Wyckoff for 20 years before returning to Garfield for 39 years. Since 2011 she resided in Monroe Township. Before her retirement Mrs. Kovarcik had been an executive secretary with Hartford Insurance Company, Ramsey, NJ. She had previously been an executive secretary at Sika Chemical Company and at Raybestos-Manhattan Rubber Company, formerly in Passaic. Mrs. Kovarcik was a life-long member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Garfield and an active member of its Ladies' Aid Society.
She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Joseph Kovarcik; her parents, Andrew and Tressa (née Velebir) Lesko; her brothers, Stefan and Milan Lesko, her sister, Helen Kmetz and her cousin, Edward Sabo, and nieces, nephews, and great and great-­great nieces and nephews
She is survived by her son, Thomas Joseph Kovarcik Smith and his wife, Annamaria; her daughter, Kathleen S. Marrolli and her husband, Joseph D.; four grandchildren: Jacqueline B. Marrolli, Joseph F. Marrolli, Rebecca L. Smith and Rachel D. Smith; and a great-granddaughter, Tressa Beth Ladiero-Marrolli.
Visiting hours on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton, NJ from 10:00 am to 11:15 am and funeral service at 11:15 am. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice or to Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Garfield, NJ.
