Mrs. Alice Lax, 84, of New Concord, Kentucky died on Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Blood River Baptist Church. Mrs. Lax was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on October 4, 1932 to the late Elzie and Ester Garland. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lax; son-in-law, Glen Ringstaff; one sister, Alberta Donelson as well as five brothers She is survived by one son, Steve Lax and wife Beverly of New Concord, Kentucky; and by one daughter, Tammy Woodard and husband Rick of Eddyville, Kentucky; four sisters, Myrtle Lou Willoughby of Murray, Kentucky, Della Mae Wheatley and husband Walter of Paris, Tennessee, Rachael Moss and husband Russell of Murray, Kentucky, Hilda Canady of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Steven Lax of New Concord, Kentucky, Tanner Ringstaff of Tompkinsville Kentucky and Alexander Ringstaff Tompkinsville, Kentucky; two great grandchildren, Hunter Lax of New Concord, Kentucky and Ryleigh Ringstaff of Tompkinsville, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Escue officiating. Burial will follow in the New Concord Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the New Concord Cemetery Fund, c/o Mac Coleman, 296 Buchanan Lane, New Concord, Kentucky 42076.
