Alice Jean "AJ" Loper, age 93, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 at St. Leonard in Washington Township. She was born October 4, 1932 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of the late Aloysius and Florence (nee Pahl) Werner.
Alice graduated from Stivers High School in the class of 1951. She married Charles Loper Sr. on May 3, 1952 at Holy Angels Catholic Church. She briefly worked at Ohio Bell and Hallmark, however, her main passion in life was being a mother. In her free time, she enjoyed being a member of the Ladies Card Club. Alice was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Alfred Loper, Sr.
Alice is survived by her five children, Linda (David) Heizer, Charles A. (Pam) Loper, Jr., Kimberly (Gary) Moore, Christopher Loper and Sherri (Bob) Wood; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Pat (Mike) Ramby; brother, Robert (Sandy) Werner and many other loving family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Glen at St. Joseph Orphanage, 611 St. Joseph Avenue, Dayton, OH 45410.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (2300 S. Smithville Road, Dayton) with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
