Alice M. Dingman Molero-Herron, 72, a devoted mother, loving wife, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on May 14, 1953, to Betty and Harley Dingman. Alice grew up on Long Island and graduated from Wantagh High School. Her adventurous spirit led her to Mexico City in 1972 and later to Guadalajara, where she embraced a vibrant life abroad. In 1986, she and Augusto Molero welcomed their son, Juan Augusto, an enduring source of joy and pride. Though their marriage ended, Alice and Augusto remained lifelong friends.
Alice moved to
Watertown, NY, in 1990, where she continued to grow both personally and professionally. She graduated from Jefferson Community College with a degree in nursing in 1993, and in 2010, she married James Herron – her best friend, partner in crime, better half, and the love of her life.
Her career reflected her deep compassion and unwavering commitment to others. She retired in 2021 after many years serving as a psychiatric RN on the Behavioral Health Inpatient and Crisis team at Samaritan Medical Center, bringing comfort and strength to patients in their most vulnerable moments. Previously, she worked as a nurse case manager at Jefferson Public Health Service and as a cardiology RN at Crouse Health. Alice will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and ability to care for others with grace and empathy. She touched countless lives – friends, patients, and colleagues alike.
Alice leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love in the hearts of her family and friends, including her husband, James Herron; her son, Juan Augusto; stepson, James Patrick Herron and stepdaughter, Alissa (Doug) Rucki; her step-grandchildren, Maddie Herron, Sara Ess and Tristan Ess; her sisters Anne (Jorge) Zavala, Ellen Dingman (Eduardo Garcia), Julie (Mike) Bocciolatt, and her chosen sister Lori (James) George. She was a loving and involved aunt and great aunt, and her nieces and nephews will fondly remember her "no rules" weekends. She was predeceased by her parents, Betty and Harley Dingman, and by her second mother, Carole Dingman.
Alice found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved curling up with a good book, catching an old favorite movie on television, and the companionship of her treasured cats. She especially enjoyed a steaming cup of coffee during her daily Wordle puzzle, surprise calls from far away family and friends, and sharing her quick wit and humor with those around her. She cherished family get-togethers at beloved "Camp", and her love, laughter, and strength left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
A graveside service to celebrate Alice's life will be held in the spring at Three Mile Bay Cemetery. Contributions may be made, in her name, to the
American Cancer Society. donate.cancer.org
