Paul J. Bellanger, 87, of Dexter, passed away August 26, 2025, at Hospice of Jefferson County at the Ellis Farm.

Paul was born June 15, 1938, in Watertown, son of Almoran and Ida (Moore) Bellanger. He graduated from Watertown High School. In 1960, he received his associate degree in Machine and Tool Design from SUNY Canton and in 1974 completed the Machinist Course at BOCES.

He served in the US Army from October of 1961 until he was honorably discharged in October of 1963.

Paul was initially employed with Ingersoll-Rand Co. in Painted Post, NY as a Junior Engineer. He then, for a short time, was a manager for Dick Fields Overhead Doors in Canton, NY. In 1973, he began working for the New York Air Brake Co. in Watertown, NY and in 1987, he moved to Florida to be a design draftsman for Rollison Engineering and Manufacturing Co.

He is survived by a sister Jane Van Alstyne of Florida and his neighbor and friend Steve Tucker.

Paul was an antique car enthusiast. He enjoyed working on cars, attending car show and gatherings, and the friends that he made that had the same interest.

A graveside service will be held 1:30 pm Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Brookside Cemetery with his fellow car enthusiasts.
