Paula "Sue" Allen, 69 of Watertown, NY passed away peacefully in her home early Friday, July 11th, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County.

Paula was born in Watertown, NY, the daughter of Anthony H. and Marjorie G. (Hamilton) Fiaschetti. She graduated from high school and went on to complete her nursing education in Rochester, NY, earning her LPN. Her passion was in caring for and helping others, having been employed through WIC (Women, Infants and Children) and Disabled Persons Action Organization (DPAO) as a day rehabilitation aide. In 1982, she married William M. Allen IV in Texas, which ended in divorce in 1986. Mr. Allen preceded her in death.

Paula was a devoted and loving mother to her children, Shannon R. Allen (wife Dani Carman) of Camillus, Victoria E. Cummins of Watertown, Chelsea A. Allen of Watertown, her son Jamie Curcio (wife Michelle) of Harrisville. Paula was a proud and doting Nonna to Kat Carman, Teryn and Rayna Curcio, and Dinah and Nicole "Coco" Cummins. Over the years she had the joy and privilege of loving many pets, including cats, dogs, birds, and lizards.

Paula was a proud, lifelong learner. She was fascinated with history and genealogy, and would frequently share everything about her family history to anyone who'd listen. She was obsessed with Star Trek; no matter where she went, Star Trek always felt like home. Paula loved listening to music, discovering and recommending new shows and movies to watch, collecting various antiques – especially at rummage sales – and spoiling her grandchildren. She had a creative mind and could make something out of nothing. Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, and cooking.

As she boldly goes where she's never gone before, Paula will be remembered fondly and missed dearly.

Surviving family members include her two brothers, Anthony "Butch" Fiaschetti Jr. (wife Barbara) of Granite City, NC and Charles Fiaschetti of Watertown, her bestie and caretaker Cynthia LaJoie, several nieces and nephews, and many bonus children. Paula is also lovingly remembered by her lifelong best friend, Kathryn Smith, and her bonus daughter Kianna Cantey, both of whom held a special place in her heart.

In addition to her parents, Paula is predeceased by her brother Enrico "Rick" Fiaschetti, her son-in-law Shawn Cummins, and her mother-in-law Edwina Collins.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with D.L. Calarco Funeral Inc. Online condolences may be made at www.dlcalarco.com

In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe has been set up to help with unexpected costs following Paula's sudden passing, including travel, meals, moving, and storage. Any support is deeply appreciated.
