Alice Marshall Morgan

ALICE MARSHALL MORGAN, 83, passed away peacefully, on September 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to education and a lifetime of cherished memories with family and friends.

Born in Walkertown, North Carolina, to Cleta and Wade Marshall, Sr., Alice's journey took her from the small-town charm of North Carolina to the halls of Florida State University, where she earned her degree and became a proud member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.

After college, Alice married James Morgan. They eventually made their home in Solon, Ohio, where she would spend over two decades working with Solon City Schools. Alice began her educational career as a teacher of World History and Advanced Placement Economics, where her passion for learning and her ability to inspire young minds quickly became evident. She later transitioned to serving as a Guidance Counselor and eventually Head of the High School Guidance Department.

Alice's impact on education extended far beyond her own school district. Her expertise and leadership were recognized statewide when she served as President of the Ohio School Counselor's Association from 2000-2001.

Throughout her life, Alice remained deeply connected to her community and faith. She was a longtime member of the Chagrin Valley Women's Club and Pioneer Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she found fellowship and opportunities to serve others. An avid reader and traveler, Alice approached life with curiosity and enthusiasm, always eager to learn about new places and cultures.

Alice is survived by her beloved daughter, Kristina (Joseph), and her two adored grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Cleta, her brother Wade, Jr. (Walda), and four nephews who will cherish their memories of her warmth and guidance. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and her sister Maurine.

Alice's legacy lives on in the countless students whose lives she touched through her teaching and counseling, in her family, and in the community she served with such dedication.

Funeral Service Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Federated Church, 76 Bell St., Chagrin Falls. (Please meet at the church.) Interment private. The family will receive friends at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 95 S. FRANKLIN ST., CHAGRIN FALLS ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3 FROM 3 TO 5 P.M.
