Alice Long Nash
Alice Long Nash, a caring wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away on February 29th at the age of 88, surrounded by her loved ones.
On February 26, 1936, Alice was born in Chicago, IL to parents Cornelius James Long and Anne Quinn Long.
After graduating from Trinity high school, Alice attended Barat College in Lake Forest, Illinois where on a blind date she met the love of her life, Philip Nash. Together they shared 65 years of marriage, and had 6 children: Philip, Maribeth (Gary Bearfield), Michael, Colleen (Eddie Becht), Maureen and Blaze (Will Gardner) and was a Proud Nonny to her grandchildren Brian (Jamie Thomas), Allie (Emily Graff) and Drake and great grandchildren, Micah, Tyler, Joshua, and Zachary.
Amazing Alice co-owned All About Travel Agency, allowing others to explore the world through air travel and sea voyages, which was her passion. In her later years, she assumed the role of the Queen Mum among the Red Hat Ladies. And was proud to be one of the mermaids among her pool angels. Despite battling rheumatoid arthritis for years, Alice was known for her lively presence at parties, singing "Hello Dolly" songs with infectious enthusiasm and timeless charm as the last one to leave the dance floor. She consistently brightened the room with her mega-watt smile, which was always accompanied by her infectious humor, and generosity of offering uplifting guidance. Exemplifying unwavering resilience and a steadfast passion for life, in her essence, she encapsulates the fusion of resilience and boundless joy.
In heaven, Alice joins her husband Phil, her parents, four brothers, Neil, James, Richard and Tom, and a long receiving line of friends and family awaiting to sing again, with the one and only Amazing Alice.
